Give it Time

Hi there artsters!
Don’t rush your art piece unless it’s a paying work and unfortunately, hey that’s life isn’t it, you happen to have a deadline. Make a draft, take some time off, then come back to it. Approach it bit by bit; every time with a bolt of energy that you had saved over time; a bit like those old battery charged camera flash pieces. An art work is a flower; when the time is right it will blossom; that’s when it’s going to be as close to perfect as it can ever be.

Inspiration, Creativity and Schedule

Hi there artsters!
As I said before , inspiration may strike at the weirdest times. Although it’s a good idea to be well organised in general and keep a tight schedule to not waste your hours and days on unnecessary details, when a certain familiar flow of inspiration strikes and your creativity is on a roll, you better milk it as much and as quickly as you can even if that means ruling out your schedule completely. Imagine you’re a surfer and you come across the perfect wave; don’t just waste it because it wasn’t something planned, it might take a long while before you see another one like that.Don’t stop and waste time on details and rough edges either; once your basic brilliant ideas are captured then you can do your scheduling and comeback to them for some finetuning; probably at a time when you’re not feelingt very creative yet you’d like to see some work get done.

Inspiration Strikes

Hi there artsters!
I don’t know about you but the inspiration and the best ideas seem to come to me at the weirdest times: in toilet, in shower, taking a walk in a forrest, etc. I used to carry around a small notebook in my pocket. Nowadays I mostly talk to my phone and record my ideas as quickly as I can; Sometimes I even make a video on the spot. Whereas if I had all the time in the world and was sitting in front of my computer, nothing would be happening and I’d end up surfing through YouTube videos or something. Damn!

Rebellion Yes, Self Destruction No

Hi there artsters!
There is something that a beginner-artist may find romantic about the image of a loner; a cool loser with a cigarette in one hand and and a shot glass in the other. This is especially true when you think about musicians on the rockier side of the spectrum.

You’ve probably heard about the ‘Club of 27’. A lot of very tallented musicians like Amy Winehouse, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix lost their lives at the age of 27 to drugs, alcohol andreckless life style. And many musicians have survived to tell it as it is; probably most of them wouldn’t bepraising that era of their lives highly.

When you’re young and you posses the sensitive soul of an artist, it’s easy to fall into that trap and justify it as “this is the way true artists tick” but if you give yourself time to grow, not just as an artist but as a person as well, someday you’ll see that your view of the world will change and that you don’t need to ruin your life to create great art and get appreciated.

Rebellion goes with the territory when you’re an artist, you don’t want to be just another dot; you want to express yourself; you want to prove you’re different and you’ve got things to offer; by all means do that! But if all that’s true reach that point without self-destructing because World needs to see your future work as well for crying out loud.
